PlayStation 5 exclusive video games of 2021: PlayStation 5 is a reality, and although there were two problems in terms of stock and distribution worldwide, it is fair to mark its launch as a success. Destruction All-stars (PS5, February 5, 2021)
Destruction All-Stars seems to be a mix of Destruction Derby with some of the Rocket League stamp and heroes in the best Overwatch style. It will work? That is the real question mark. To its credit, it must be said that driving arcades of this type are rather a rarity in the industry today, so it will be a breath of fresh air for gamers. It was to be a PlayStation 5 launch game (it was priced at $ 70), but only decided to delay it until February and make it part of the PlayStation Plus program in order to replicate the phenomenon that happened with Rocket League.
Stray (PS5, PC, 2021)
Many aspects of Stray are striking: aesthetics, the universe it poses, but above all, the idea of personifying a feline. Stray invites us to explore a mysterious city populated by robots, making use of unique abilities for the protagonist: sneaking under cars or taking advantage of agility to access high or hidden places. Published by Annapurna – the great label of the indies – Stray is being developed by a team of veterans from Ubisoft. It will arrive exclusively on consoles on PlayStation 5, although there will also be a PC version.

Deathloop (PS5, PC, May 21, 2021)
Arkane Studios abandons the concepts of Dishonored and the great Prey to embrace a title focused on action but with the identity traits that characterize the studio. Because in Deathloop, we personify Colt, a murderer who is trapped in a “time loop” that happens on a mysterious island where strange experiments are carried out. The explosive action it poses is adorned with elements that come from the studio’s previous games, making it easy to imagine it as one of the most original games of the year. Although Bethesda was bought by Microsoft, the temporary exclusivity agreement of the title will be maintained on consoles for PlayStation 5.

Ghostwire Tokyo (PS5, PC, 2021)
Without having a specific release date, Ghostwire Tokyo is highly anticipated this year. It is an action and adventure game set in an empty Tokyo. Since everyone has mysteriously disappeared and in their place, it has been populated with spirits from another dimension. Our task is to make use of an extensive arsenal of paranormal abilities to repel the phantom threat and discover the origin of the spirits and the phenomenon of mass disappearance. The game is being developed by Tango Gameworks – led by the legendary Shinji Mikami – and is another game that will enjoy temporary exclusivity on PlayStation 5 consoles despite Microsoft’s purchase of Bethesda.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits (PS5, PS4, PC, March 2021)
In Kena: Bridge of Spirits, we will take the role of Kena, a spiritual guide with magical abilities. The environment where we play is unknown to her: her place of origin works as a central part of the map and is abandoned. This site will improve as we progress through the game, and part of the plot is to reveal what happened to all the inhabitants of the place. The name of the title refers to the fact that one of the abilities we have is to collect “souls in pain” that can help us execute special powers or intervene in combat and then let them go to their final resting place. In addition to a complex attack system, the skills allow us, for example, to transform the scepter into a magic bow, build a shield or move objects and distract enemies. Technically it looks amazing – almost like an interactive Pixar movie. It will enjoy exclusivity on consoles within the PlayStation family.

Despite the fact that Housemarque is a studio that has provided authentic, exclusive jewels to the PlayStation universe – Super Stardust, Alienation, Resogun, among others – it has gone through moments of uncertainty due to the little commercial success of its creations, reaching the point of announcing a kind of indefinite pause in search of new horizons. Fortunately, the prodigious studio is back with Returnal, a third-person action arcade game that puts us in the shoes of Selene, an astronaut trapped on an alien planet from which she must escape. Although a priori it seems to abandon the elements that characterize Housemarque’s work, Just look at the gameplay footage in action to know that the DNA is still there and seen like never before – it looks spectacular and promises to use both 3D sound and DualSense haptic feedback to make a difference.

Horizon Forbidden West (PS5, PS4, second half 2021)
With Horizon: Zero Dawn Guerrilla Games, it obtained the credentials that it lacked to position itself as one of the most important Sony studios, to the point that the technology they used was carried over to other games such as Death Stranding , and other platforms such as PC.. But above all, they showed an incredible hand to give life to a fantastic universe and tell a wonderful story like Aloy, its protagonist. Forbidden West takes place years after the events of the first game and will have Aloy venturing into the Forbidden West: a new region, far from her homeland, where she must face a mysterious plague that is killing the planet. It looks as much or more spectacular than the first, not new biomes, mechanical beasts, and abilities, in a title that is also coming to PlayStation 4.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart (PS5, first half 2021)
Ratchet & Clank are two of the most beloved pets in the PlayStation universe, and with each of their installments, they have managed to exploit the qualities of each console they visited. PlayStation 5 will not be the exception, of course: Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart brings us the great heroes back in an adventure that will exploit all the elements that make PlayStation 5 a unique console, particularly the fast loading system of the status disk. Solid, with which a huge number of dimensions can be accessed instantly through the different portals that will appear as the central axis of the narrative. Action, exploration, platforms, graphics from another planet, and the characteristic humor of the franchise are the elements that make this title one of the most anticipated of PlayStation 5 for this year.

Gran Turismo 7 (PS5, 2021)
Gran Turismo is synonymous with PlayStation: it is one of the series that defines the identity of the Japanese giant. It is also one of the most successful in commercial terms since, throughout its history, it has sold millions of copies in total. However, Gran Turismo Sport did not have the reception that Kazunori Yamauchi would have envisioned: a game that abandoned the classic structure of the series in favor of a more esports-friendly footprint. Everything seems to change with Gran Turismo 7: a game that, in addition to being a technical showcase for the console, It will return to the roots that fans of the franchise were demanding so much. It does not have a release date yet, but judging by the images, we are looking at a very finished product, which will probably arrive some time in 2021.

God of War: Ragnarok (PS5, 2021)
There are not many details regarding God of War: Ragnarok. However, it is not necessary to know too much outside of the fact that Sony assures that it will come out this year. It happens that it is a franchise that does not need an introduction, particularly after the event that was God Of War back in 2018. “Ragnarok” makes us suppose that indeed Kratos will be linked to Norse mythology, which suits him even better than Greek mythology from previous installments. Being the same studio and having the same staff in the direction and production, it is not difficult to imagine it as the great release of the year. The only “but” is that the numbers do not close at all: at most, it will have three years of development, which is really little for a game of this size. For this reason, it is that to think about it in 2021 is to enter positivism, but in the case of Kratos, we will make that exception.
