Cyberpunk 2077 Beginners Guide
And to help you focus on what matters, we’ve put together a selection of simple tips to keep in mind. If you want to earn more points, get decent rewards, and do more headshot damage, that’s all you need to know.
SAVE ABILITY POINTS
It is not worth spending your ability points and characteristics immediately after receiving them. Occasionally, a successful Technical Ability Test may be required to complete specific tasks, such as opening a locked door. In dialogues, specific options also open only with a sufficient value of the corresponding abilities or characteristics. You can pause the game right in the middle of the conversation to pump these abilities and pass checks.
DO EVERYTHING TO GET MORE POINTS
Don’t get hung up on one weapon or playstyle. Try to change approaches. Take a shotgun at some level. Hack everything you can, and start crafting from the very beginning. You can even run everywhere and not drive a car to pump your Athletics skill – for what? Because it allows you to earn ability points that can be spent around, not just in the earned area.
USE A QUICK HACK OFTEN
With every hack, you gain experience. If possible, use all available memory cells for hacking systems when exploring the world and in battle – along with expertise for hacking, you will receive ability points. It is useful to get used to periodically scanning the environment – a quick hack will allow you to find valuable trophies, access points, and much more.
TRY NOT TO USE FAST TRAVEL
If you always use fast-moving, you can miss calls and text messages on your phone. They are usually tied to missions nearby, marked on the map with a yellow question mark. Try to complete them as much as possible to make more money.
COLLECT (ALMOST) ALL THE LOOT
Don’t just take what you need and leave the rest. It is imperative to check all the bodies after shootouts and collect weapons from them – it can disassemble into crafting components.
Use the Cyberpunk 2077 Beginners Guide scanner to find “junk” items only for sale – sometimes you can find something rare and precious. It would help if you had a lot of money here, so collect all the trunks and open all the boxes. It is worth leaving only completely useless garbage.
TAKE YOUR TIME TO COMPLETE ACT 1
At the beginning of Act 2, you will need to buy a new car – and if you don’t have enough money, you will have to walk around Night City. It is not good for your reputation. Take the time to complete various side quests to fill your bank account before taking on the Robbery mission.
BUY A NEW CYBERDECK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
When it comes to shopping, your initial cyber deck is pretty much useless because it cannot upgrades. Many people may not even notice it early in the game, but a quick hack can be a useful tool, especially if you prefer stealth.
SHOT IN THE HEAD FOR MORE DAMAGE
There are special abilities for sniper rifles and pistols that allow you to deal more damage with a headshot. And in combination with the abilities for silent weapons, the damage grows even more – you can create a silent and deadly character who always shoots in the head.
HACK ACCESS POINTS
Access points can be found literally at every turn, and hacking them will help you get more money and crafting components. If you see cameras or other objects connected to the network, you can use the Inquiry function to search for access points or simply scan the environment and find them nearby. Be sure to try to fulfill as many conditions as possible to receive the reward!
Cyberpunk 2077 Beginners Guide can Hacking an Access Point is a small mini-game where you have to connect numbers in a row – the numbers must be in the same row or the same column. The more numbers you connect correctly, the more you get the reward.
LEVEL 20 SNIPER RIFLE AT THE VERY BEGINNING
Almost at the very beginning of the game, you can find a powerful sniper rifle. In Dream City, when you and Jackie arrive at the Reaper, go to the Esoterica store and go to the alley, but don’t go down the stairs in the middle. On the left, almost immediately after the door from the store, there will be a passage to the elevator. Go to the roof in it and open the purple suitcase next to a small hill – there will be an SV-32 Grad sniper rifle.
Sniper rifle SV-32 “Grad.”

Of course, the above tips are great to know before you start playing, but even if you are already playing Cyberpunk 2077, many of them remain relevant and will help you become a legend of Night City.
