Crossplay helps groups; progress stays separate

The console rollout lets a group choose its preferred supported devices rather than requiring everyone to own the same console. That is the practical benefit for friends who already play on PC and want console-owning friends to join them.

There are two limits to plan around. Landfall says saves will not transfer between platforms, and it has no current plans for matchmaking. Arrange your group ahead of time, and treat a purchase on a second platform as a separate progression track.

How the climb works

In Landfall’s game overview, players are stranded nature scouts trying to reach a mountain summit to escape an island. Cooperation involves helping another scout onto a ledge and placing ropes or climbing spikes to make a difficult route easier for the rest of the group.

Survival complicates the climb. Food and useful equipment matter, while injuries reduce the stamina available for the next stretch. The island layout rotates every 24 hours, so a group can spend a session learning one route and return to a different layout another day.

What the PS5 announcement confirms

The October 15 PlayStation Blog announcement comes from Team PEAK, the collaboration between Aggro Crab and Landfall. It confirms that the PS5 version includes the content updates, biomes, and items added since the original launch.

The announcement also highlights custom runs that let a group adjust the challenge. That gives friends another decision to make before starting: whether the evening is about learning routes together or testing how much chaos the group can handle.
