Best Graphics Card for Ryzen 5 2600 & 2600x [ Updated 2020 ]

best graphics card for ryzen 5 2600

AMD Ryzen processors have become a very valid option when it comes to gaming, compared to its big competitors from Intel. Very accurate and generally cheaper than these. However, this does not mean that we can mount any model of the graphics card with any processor. Doing so exposes us to suffer a bottleneck in the performance of our team. Let’s see what the Best graphics card for Ryzen 5 2600 is?

As you may well know, a bottleneck occurs in our equipment when a component has a much higher performance than the rest of the components associated with it.

This Ryzen 5 compatible GPU prevents the component in question from being able to provide all the performance it is capable of when using it.

A fairly common example is when we mount a new graphics card on our computer to check later that its performance is hardly superior to what we already had with the old graphics card.

Recommended Best graphics card for ryzen 5 2600: Mid-Range

Since the range of AMD Ryzen processors is quite wide, we have chosen to divide this article based on AMD’s subdivision into categories for these processors.

However, we have preferred to leave out the lower ranges, such as the Athlon GE, since they are not processors that can play with, given their poor performance.

The RTX 2080 Ti is the innovations of decades of Nvidia’s work, and it shows. The 2080 Ti brings considerable improvements in gross power over the 1080 Ti it replaces.

It also offers exclusive access to new technologies such as real-time ray tracing (RTX) or deep learning super sampling (DLSS).

It can improve the appearance and performance of the games that implement them for a Best graphics card for ryzen 5 2600.

Although few games include these launch technologies, Nvidia is encouraging developers to add them. We already see dozens of titles that will consist of one or the other throughout the year.

In addition to new technologies, the powerful RTX 2080 Ti can handle resolutions up to 4k with ease and well at high refresh rates.

But remember that using high refresh rates also requires a powerful processor, so don’t spend all your budget on an RTX.

New if you don’t have at least a Core i7 7700K or better on your team. The RTX 2080 Ti is also a great choice for VR gaming, especially for new VR headsets like the HTC Vive Pro or Valve Index.

With the right equipment, you can expect an RTX 2080 Ti to deliver at least 144FPS at 1080p, 100FPS at 1440p, and 60FPS at 4K.

Newer, more demanding titles may show lower performance, while older esports-focused titles will perform significantly better.

MSI Geforce GTX 1660 Super: A more powerful Ryzen 5 compatible GPU

Nvidia Geforce GTX 1660 Super

Our new selection as the card with the best performance/price ratio is the GTX 1660 Super.

This Ryzen 5 compatible GPU, which release in October 2019, carries much faster GDDR6 memory than the one included in the GTX 1660, with memory frequencies increased from 8Gbps to 14Gbps and a small 5W increase to its TDP.

These changes achieve a performance almost equal to the most expensive model,  MSI GTX 1660 Ti, allowing very good results in 1080p and the possibility of reaching 1440p with some adjustments.

Although it’s tempting to jump to the RTX 2060, which has more advanced features like hardware ray tracing, you can save quite a bit of money by choosing the lower GTX option.

This card gets an extra 25-40 percent performance for 600USD compared to our previous choice; the venerable RX 580 8GB costs 600 USD,

  • Lack of RTX and DLSS may limit the usefulness of this card in the future.

AMD Radeon RX 570 – A slightly older, mid-range Ryzen 5 2600 card at an affordable price.

AMD Radeon RX 570

With the release of the new generation of Nvidia cards, previous AMD cards are experiencing price drops that make them an interesting option.

For example, the RX 570, a mid-range card at the time, is now available for a lower price than our previous choice of cheap card, the GTX 1050 3GB.

This AMD card offers a good 1080p performance, even in the latest games, though you’ll have to lower some of the settings to maintain 60FPS on average.

Still, the RX 570 has a few downsides. The main one is that it has a higher processor usage than NVidia’s similar power cards.

So we recommend having at least a quad-core processor, preferably a recent AMD Ryzen or Intel Core, to prevent the CPU from making the bottle’s neck.

The RX 570 also tends to consume Ryzen 5 compatible GPU more than the GTX 1060 3GB or GTX 1050 Ti so that it may have performance issues on computers with limited or non-standard power supplies.

If you dare to overclock, you can get much more performance out of the RX 570.

The amount depends as always on the “lottery” of the chip you play, but in some cases, especially with cards that include the most advanced cooling options, performance can match that of the RX 580.

  • You need a quad-core processor to avoid bottlenecks.

AMD RX 5700: Best graphics for ryzen 2600

AMD RX 5700

The AMD RX 5700 is one of the best cards the company has released in recent times, thanks to a very attractive low price and surprisingly decent performance thanks to the new RDNA architecture and 7nm manufacturing process.

It enables it to provide adequate 1080p and 1440p performance, producing less heat and consuming less power than previous AMD designs.

New features like Radeon Image Sharpening and Radeon Anti-Lag includes improving image quality and response time on DX9, DX11, and Vulkan (older AMD cards do not support Anti-Lag on DX9).

The RX 5700 wins in the performance comparison with the RTX 2060, although the new RTX 2060 Super is faster than both.

NVidia’s cards also include hardware-accelerated ray tracing, which adds new visual effects in some games and has the potential to become essential with the arrival of technology on next-gen consoles.

Compared to the older graphics card for ryzen 2600, you can expect performance on par with the GTX 1080, sometimes better or worse, depending on the game, and about 15 percent better than the RX Vega 64.

Although the RX 5700 is a card to consider, it is important to remember that the cheaper RX 5600 XT is now also available, and with models that have a new BIOS that reach memory speeds of 14Gbps and 1750MHz of accelerated frequency.

On average, these overclocked models are only 6 or 7 percent slower than the RX 5700, at a much lower price, making them a better performance/price option.

On the other side, the RX 5600 XT has less memory (6GB vs. 8GB), a narrower memory bus, and little room for overclocking, so the RX 5700 takes our recommendation to play 1440p.
